Kevin resides in Texas with two sons and three grandchildren. He studies philosophy, religion, history, archeology and is an avid painter.
Kevin L. Brooks grew up in north central Texas. He grew up reading Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan series, Ian Fleming's James Bond, and Louis L'Amour. Along with a healthy dose of comic books, especially Batman, these ingredients helped shape the course of his life to come. He went on to attend college at Texas Tech University and Lubbock Christian University.
After graduating, Kevin entered the business world working for a Financial Services company. Several years later, he left that company and opened his own successful firm, Brooks Financial Services. In his spare time, Kevin finds time for his passions as an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoys everything from hiking, climbing, and mountaineering, to hunting and fishing. In fact, many parts of this tale were invented while sitting in a deer stand or a duck blind. He also studies Philosophy and Religion, as well as his favorite topic, History. Kevin loves History, real history, real, fascinating, living history. One day, he decided to pursue his long-held desire to write a novel. Over the course of the next 12 years, he slowly spun the tale of The Lost Gospel of Barabbas. Over time, the story grew into four tomes.
He has also authored a childrens book, I Am Not a Dinosaur. He wrote and illustrated the children's science book. The paleontologist is a long time board member of the Whiteside Musuem of Natural History. Growing up in North Texas he lives right smack dab in the middle of the famous Texas Red Beds. This helped influence his love of nature. Although his career evolves around finance, he is a scientist at heart. This has allowed him to hunt fossils across the greater United States and to meet many of the brightest Paleontologists in the world. And let's face it, He's just a Dino Nerd.
